EzyVegies Demonstration Garden - Winter Update

26-Jun-2010

The warm Autumn conditions have continued through May and June, creating ideal growing conditions in the garden. Our March planting of lettuce and rocket has finished, but the silverbeet and parsley are powering on despite continual harvesting.

Better still, the April planting is coming into production. We’ve had lettuce, rocket, spinach and coriander this week, and the broccoli plants have small tight heads. Broccoli season is the best – well managed plants can produce tight heads and side shoots for two months or more. Caterpillars have still been a problem, but damage has been minimal.
