Services

We can help you design, install and maintain your vegetable garden. We can also train you in all aspects of vegetable gardening. Our service programs are designed to give you the knowledge and skills to be self-reliant and, depending on the size of your garden, self-sufficient as well.

Garden Program

The Garden Program provides weekly step-by-step advice on which vegetables to grow and how to grow them. We’ll tell you how to get started, how to source the best materials and products, and how to produce organic vegetables and herbs in every season. Information is based on our Research Garden Network that covers the main climate zones in Australia. Please go to the Garden Advice page of this website and either register with your official EzyVegies Customer Number or pay your $20 annual membership fee.

Residential Program

The Residential Program is for first time vegetable gardeners. We’ll provide five ‘hands-on’ training sessions at your home over a twelve week period (at three week intervals). Each session lasts for one hour and will teach you a different stage of the production cycle, such as garden design, garden construction, soil improvement, composting, germination of seeds, transplanting, watering, feeding, pest and disease control and harvesting. After 12 weeks, you’ll have a fully functioning organic garden with the knowledge and skills to continue on your own. Please contact us for more information.

School Program

The School Program is designed for K-6 children over one school term. The Program is customised to the NSW Primary Curriculum and addresses the Key Learning Areas of science, technology, human society, the environment, personal development and health. The Program includes teacher training, learning materials (for teachers and students), garden construction and expert advice. Topics include garden design and construction, composting, soil improvement, germination of seeds, transplanting, watering, feeding, pest and disease control, production cycles and harvesting. Please contact us for more information.

Community Program

The Community Program connects residents with vacant land and provides the required support to organise, establish and maintain a vibrant community garden. The Program relies on collaboration between local government, community groups, businesses and individuals. Funds can be raised from government grants, sponsorship and levies. Please contact us for more information.

Kids Program

The Kids Program encourages children to discover and appreciate the fun and rewards of vegetable gardens. On two Sundays per month, we’ll guide a maximum of 15 kids (ages 5 to 12) through our Research Garden for one hour. We’ll hunt snails, feed worms, watch lizards, make compost, plant seeds, spread fertilizer, remove weeds and taste organic vegetables. We may even find time for a garden tea party with some home-baked herb scones. Please contact us for more information.
